Presentation

Hey — I'm Pablo. I build AI & ML solutions tailored to business needs.

Every business problem is different, and so is the solution. I enjoy understanding the underlying challenge, identifying the right technology, and building AI systems that are practical, scalable, and impactful.

Work experience

A glimpse into my professional journey.

From quantum-information research to production machine learning in finance— a quick tour of the roles that shaped how I work.

01

Data Scientist

Sep 2025 — Present

CaixaBank Payments & Consumer

  • Built an end-to-end time-series forecasting pipeline (Oracle, XGBoost, Darts, Optuna), fully orchestrated with Apache Airflow.
  • Developed a propensity model for consumer-finance product targeting.
  • Implemented two agentic systems for internal operations — one with Power Automate, one with LangGraph.
  • Automated multiple recurring internal workflows with Apache Airflow.
02

Theoretical Researcher

Feb 2025 — Jul 2025

Quside

  • Theoretical research on randomness extraction in semi-device-independent QRNGs.
  • Ran SDP simulations with NumPy and Optuna.
  • Co-authored a peer-reviewed paper.
03

Theoretical Researcher

Feb 2025 — May 2025

ICFO — The Institute of Photonic Sciences

  • Researched graph-neural-network applications for quantum state tomography.
  • Built graph representations of quantum states with NetworkX.
  • Implemented GNNs with PyTorch Geometric to enhance quantum-state reconstruction methods.
04

Software Developer

Jul 2023 — Sep 2023

DataBot Technologies

  • Built an automated web-scraping pipeline (Selenium, Playwright, BeautifulSoup) powering the backend of a production web application.

Complementary experience

YQIS International Conference · October 2025

Presented research on semi-device independent QRNGs.

Model of United Nations, Lisbon · October 2018

Active participant in MUN program in Lisbon.

Model of United Nations Youth Assembly, New York · February 2017

Class cohort representative at MUN-YA conferences in United Nations Headquarters.

About me

Science taught me how to think.

My background has allowed me to develop a workflow grounded in the scientific method: reason carefully, question everything, and stay with a problem long enough to truly understand it. Those habits don't leave you. I bring them to every project I work on.

Academic background

Sep 2024 — Jul 2025

MSc in Quantum Science & Technology

Universitat de Barcelona
Sep 2019 — Sep 2024

Double BSc in Physics & Mathematics

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

What drives me

Relentless curiosity

I like understanding how things work, all the way down.

Ambition & work ethic

I set high standards and do what it takes to meet them.

Competitive spirit

Sport sharpened my drive. I bring that same edge — and the discipline it demands — to my work.
